One day, three men came passing by,
Abraham received them with great respect,
’Cause he felt one of them, the Lord Himself,
In the form of a man.
Let me send for water to wash your feet,
And take some food, and stay with us a little while.
The voice again came to Abraham,
That God would give them a little boy, Isaac,
The name means “laughing”,
’Cause they were so happy, could scarcely believe the news;
Then they talked about Sodom and other cities around,
The prospect might come, to be destroyed.
Because of the wickedness, people there practiced,
Abraham did his best to dissuade them,
Asked for God’s forgiveness.
If fifty good people are there, will God spare them…
If forty …
If ten good people are found in the city …?
And the Lord said,
If I find ten good men, I will spare the city.
Lot and his family were in Sodom,
The only good man, they found, was Lot;
Other people, the rest,
So wicked, and cruel, in the sight of God.
