Joseph’s Dream Came True

In the years of plenty,
Joseph ordered all the farmers to give the extra to the king,
He stored a great many of the grain.
The king rewarded him with a wife, from
The noble young women of his kingdom.
God gave them two sons.

The oldest, called Manasseh, “making to forget”,
For God has made me forget all my troubles, and toil;
The second, named Ephraim, means “fruitful”
’Cause God has not only made the land fruitful,
But He has made me fruitful, out of my troubles.
Then, came the years of need.

People in great want of food, everywhere
In the land and around Egypt,
They all cried to the king to help them.
Go to Joseph, and do whatever he tells you to do,
King Pharaoh said.
Because of the savings store, no one suffered.

In the land of Canaan, Jacob heard the news,
Out of lacking food to eat,
Jacob sent his sons, to go to Egypt to buy grain,
Except for Benjamin.
Now Joseph, a forty years old man,
It’s been twenty-three years since…
